President North Asia & Specialty Blacks Business

Todd Cottrell is President, North Asia region and Specialty Blacks Business (SBB) at Birla Carbon. In this role, Mr. Cottrell provides leadership for Birla Carbon’s SBB globally and operational leadership for the North Asia region. He will operate out of the company headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, USA and the North Asia headquarters in Shanghai, China.

Mr. Cottrell is a recognized leader in specialty chemicals with over 22 years of experience in customer value creation, commercialization and operational integration and improvement. He joined Birla Carbon in December 2017.

In June 2019, Mr. Cottrell took over the additional role of leading the North Asia region.

Prior to Birla Carbon, Mr. Cottrell was with Huntsman Corporation where he led the Color Pigments business as Global Commercial Director. Prior to Huntsman, he was the Global Director of Coatings, Adhesives, and Sealants at Kraton Performance Polymers Inc. He spent several years at PPG Industries as Regional Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Aerospace Coating and Global Business Manager for Aerospace Chemicals.

Mr. Cottrell holds a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering and Process Safety from Michigan Technological University and an MBA from Duke University.
