Birla Carbon Brazil shares the strength as it gives back to the communities in which it operates

As Birla Carbon Brazil ended 2022, the employees at each location organized an internal campaign to collect food and hygiene products for donation. The company also acquired food baskets in a collaborative action organized by the Union Workers representing the Cubatao plant and Santos office. In Camaçari, the company food baskets were donated in an organized activity with the Municipal Hall.
Birla Carbon Brazil organized volunteering and donation initiatives
The employees of both, Cubatao and Camaçari plants, including the Santos office, organized social responsibility events during the month of December 2022 to collect food and hygiene products for donation to the elderly in the community. The plant employees joined efforts to collect more than 1,000 items in total, 300 kgs of food which were donated to the ‘Lar do Carmo Institution’ near the Camaçari plant. Employee volunteers of the Cubatao plant and Santos office also collected around 800 items, including clothes, food, and hygiene products, for donating to the ‘Lar Fraterno Institution’, which serves more than 30 elderly people living at the institution.
Focusing on social welfare, Birla Carbon Brazil also –
- Acquired 425 food baskets for needy community residents.
- In partnership with the campaign organized by the Union Workers, the company distributed food baskets to the community’s families near the Cubatao plant and Santos office locations.
- At Camaçari, 80 families from the Resident’s Association received donations from Birla Carbon in partnership with the Municipal Hall.
- The Human Resources team members and volunteer employees attended the food distribution to the local community.
Priscila Centrone, Human Resources Coordinator, shares, “All of these initiatives demonstrate how much we seek to plant the seed of solidarity, bringing moments of joy to those in need. This time of the year is very special to unite ourselves, whether in voluntary actions organized by our employees or the company’s contribution, to share food with the communities in partnership with social entities.
