TRANSPARENCY AND EQUAL PAY REPORT

In compliance with Law 14.611 of July 14th, 2023, to the Ordinance No. 3.714 of Ministry of Labor & Employment (MTE), and Decree No. 11.795/2023, Birla Carbon Brazil Ltda discloses the Transparency and Equal Pay Report prepared by the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE), whose information corresponds to the Cubatao Plant headquarter, under CNPJ No. 02.634.915/0002-65, considering its direct employees.

The criteria for mandatory disclosure of data covers only companies with more than 100 employees, per location, presenting statistical data on remuneration and no specific individual data, respecting the guidelines of the General Law for the Protection of Personal Data (LGPD, Law 13.709/2018).

The report is issued by the Ministry of Labor and Employment, through information extracted from e-Social platform for the year 2022 aggregated according to the percentages by Major Groups of functions, following the Brazilian Classification of Occupations (CBO), which cannot accurately reflect the specialties of positions and functions of the company’s staff, as well as the remuneration criteria for positions and salaries.

It is important to note that the company adopts the same criteria of equal pay between men and women who perform the same function and occupy the same positions, with the same competence, in accordance with article 461 of the Consolidation of Labor Laws and collective bargaining rules.

Birla Carbon Brazil Ltda is part of a Global Economic Group, headquartered in Mumbai, India, which has the promotion of an inclusive, diverse, and ethical environment that values equal opportunities as one of its commitments, present in its local and corporate programs, as well as in its hiring policy. The company also provides a direct ethics channel to all its employees and third parties to report any deviations and/or make complaints, reinforcing its commitment to an ethical and transparent work environment.

This report produced by the Brazilian State reflects data from the Cubatao Carbon Black Plant (SP), excluding data from the Camaçari Plant (BA) and the company’s administrative office in the city of Santos (SP).

In this sense, gender and racial diversity was impaired since the data were concentrated only in the manufacturing environment of a single location. We are working so that, in the next report, racial diversity will involve the data from the Bahia Plant and gender diversity will involve most workers in the Santos office.
