Birla Carbon Brazil Shares the Strength with Autism Care Entities
Towards the end of December 2023, the employees of Birla Carbon Brazil participated in the donation of food, toys, and other products for children and families of two organizations near the plants and the Santos office. With the engagement of the volunteers and other employees at the three locations, they collected around 600 items, which were shared with families from the community and attended by two charity centers.
- ACATEA is located in Cubatão City and supports the families of children with Autism (between 0–10 years).
- In Camaçari, the Carmem Mirim Day Care Center also supports children with autism within that region.
The volunteers observed the happiness and excitement on the faces of the children, and one of the volunteers from the Cubatão plant – Marcus, dressed up as a clown with his daughter, Ana Beatrice, to entertain the children and their parents during the donation drive.
Speaking about this experience, Marcus mentioned, “It was a unique experience for me because it helps us to understand how important it is to be supportive of others. Actions like these bring us out of our comfort zone and show us how to deal with reality. It was primarily for this reason that I included my daughter and we both dressed up as clowns. I am happy to be able to share this spirit with her.”
Vitoria from the HR team, Birla Carbon Brazil, organized this event in partnership with the other team members at the two plants and showcased her gratitude to all the employees who were involved during the event. “Being a volunteer is much more than dedicating your time; it is contributing towards making someone’s day happy,” she said.
The campaign engagement named ‘Solidary Christmas’ came from a group of employee volunteers for the third consecutive year, and the participation of the Birla Carbon Brazil team was very positive. The team demonstrated the value of living the purpose and ‘Sharing the Strength.’
