Birla Carbon Canada is pleased to be a supporter of the 2056 Robotics Team from one of its local high schools in the Hamilton area of Canada that has been competing in the annual ‘FIRST Robotics Championship’ for many years now. This was the first year of the support to this group and Birla Carbon Canada was the ‘bronze’ level sponsor for the team. 

FIRST was created to inspire young people to become science and technology leaders by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster a well-rounded life including self-confidence, communication, and leadership where high school students showcase their brilliance in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) streams. 

The team had a very successful year, culminating with qualification for the World Championship 2024 in Houston, Texas with a 53 – 0 competition record. The highlights of their season included a 58-win streak, Newmarket Champs, McMaster Champs, Ontario Provincial Champs, Galileo Champs. Additionally, the team was also ranked first in the world, based on statistics at the end of the regular season.
