Birla Carbon Cubatão shared the importance of safety with visiting school students
On October 29, 2019, the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) team of Birla Carbon Cubatão, received students from the ETEC Dona Escolástica Rosa for additional training on their course for work safety technicians.
This visit was part of the HR team’s initiative and involved the quality and production departments as well. The students got a chance to take the tour of the plant and gained insights into the safety procedures followed at Birla Carbon Cubatão.
Additionally, they discussed with the plant staff the important of HSE and the future of safety in medium and large-sized industries. This was the first time that they visited a carbon black manufacturing unit and understood the safety best practices followed here.
Sharing his thoughts on this visit, Ronaldo Duarte, President, South America, Birla Carbon, said, “Having young students visiting our facilities is a great opportunity for us to connect with them and share our knowledge. The visit of the team to our Cubatão plant is a step in the right direction towards sharing the importance of HSE not only at home but also at the workplace. We are committed to sharing the value of safety with as many millennials as possible.”
The students felt motivated and were positive after their visit to the plant which was further established as they were searching for Birla Carbon via social media to gather more information about our manufacturing processes and other practices.
