Birla Carbon Brazil Shares the Strength with Autism Care Entities
On January 19, 2024, Birla Carbon India’s Patalganga Unit (PTG) received the Meritorious Service Award at the Rotary CSR Awards 2023 for their ‘Speaking Wall’ CSR initiative. The award function was held at the Hyatt Regency, Pune, and was organized by the Rotary International District 3131. Close to 60 companies participated in this category with their individual CSR projects, and among them, 20 companies were selected by the jury for the Rotary CSR Awards 2023. On behalf of Birla Carbon Patalganga, the CSR award was accepted by Laxman, Assistant Manager, CSR, and Mayuri, from HR. The chief guests at the ceremony were Michael K. McGovern, Chairperson, Rotary International PolioPlus Committee, and Manjoo Phadke, District Governor, RI District 3131.
The main objective of the project is to create a happy learning environment for the students and, in turn, urge their parents to send their children to government primary schools. Today, these schools face a big challenge when it comes to maintaining their student strength and providing a student-friendly environment. The majority of families who hail from tribal communities are unable to send their children to private schools due to their tough financial situations. The government schools, on the other hand, offer free educational facilities and additional support by way of CSR initiatives.
