Helping families who are at the brink of social exclusion, Birla Carbon Spain, on February 16, 2022, completed a donation drive by delivering 25 gift cards to the municipality of Marina de Cudeyo to help families in the municipality. The event was attended by the councilor for social affairs, Emilia Pérez Prieto; the President of the Cudeyo Marina Citizen Coordinator, Jesús Hernán Agudo; and social educator, Víctor González Lara. The gift cards, managed by the social affairs wing of Marina de Cudeyo, will be used to purchase sports equipment for academic and extracurricular sports activities for 25 minors. Jacinto Zarca, General Manager, Birla Carbon Spain, handed over the cards at the company’s facilities, where the city council delegation and the BCS delegation agreed to continue working together.

In this endeavor, BCS confirmed the continuity of its contribution with the support of baskets with fresh food that the social services distributes weekly, along with the contribution of eggs and yogurt for another year.

BCS has been collaborating closely with the social affairs wing of the Cudeyo Marina City Council for more than ten years now for social inclusion projects within the framework of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CS) activities. Some of the actions that have been carried out have been the continued distribution of more than 30 Christmas baskets, toys to children under nine years of age, and school materials such as textbooks and sports equipment.
